TRANSFER OF MEDICAL RECORDS TO ANOTHER PRACTICE
The medical centre should be receiving Medical Records request on the letterhead of the business requesting it. There is no charge for the general health summary but for detailed file, there is an $35 admin charge. The Records are sent in a format which is readable by medical software. Once emailed, the file will be available for 30 days due to security reasons.
Other option is put the medical records on USB (in medical software format) and collected by patient, which costs $40. The fees need to be paid upfront. The records are available within 7 business days from the time the request is made but can be delayed due to a backlog of Admin.
There is no policy for either print out records or send via email.
If the transfer request is from a legal firm or insurance, a custom fee will be applied based on what is required and an invoice will be forwarded accordingly.
